BCT2000 Series Continuous Inkjet Printer (CIJ) – Batch Coding Machine
Short Description
The BCT2000 is a continuous inkjet (CIJ) printer for coding batch numbers, MFG and EXP dates, MRP and serial numbers on products moving down a line. Its print head works without touching the product, so it codes round bottles, cans, pipes and cables as easily as flat cartons and pouches. A stainless steel cabinet and a colour touch screen make it suited to all-day factory use.

What is a continuous inkjet (CIJ) printer?
In a CIJ printer the ink never stops flowing while the printer runs. Drops that are part of the code get an electric charge and are bent onto the product by a deflection plate; unused drops fall into a gutter and return to the tank. That is why a CIJ head can code a curved bottle shoulder or a cable passing at speed, where a cartridge printer must sit very close to a flat surface.
Solvent based CIJ ink dries in about a second on non-absorbent surfaces – PET, HDPE, glass, metal and foil – so codes do not smear when products touch further down the line.
Coding with the BCT2000 – 4 steps
- 1Fix the head beside the lineMount the print head on its bracket a few millimetres from where the products pass, with the product sensor just before it.
- 2Start with the cleaning cycleSwitch on and start the jet from the touch screen; the printer runs its start-up sequence and the ink stream settles.
- 3Make the message on the screenType the text and add MFG and EXP dates, a batch counter or a shift code from the menus. Save it under a name.
- 4Print and checkRun the line; each product that passes the sensor is coded. Check the first few and adjust height or delay if needed.
- CIJ technology
- 1–4 print lines

- Auto date & batch

What the BCT2000 can code
Any product that passes the head at a steady distance can be coded; the code can sit on the top, the side or a curved face.

Who uses a CIJ printer
- Packaged drinking water, beverage and edible oil plants coding bottles on the filling line.
- Pharma and chemical units coding bottles, tubes and cartons.
- Snack, spice and FMCG units coding pouches at the outfeed of FFS machines.
- Cable, wire and pipe makers printing running length and batch marks.
- Dairy, bakery and food plants coding cups, tins and trays.
Tips for clean, readable codes
- Always start and stop the printer with its own cleaning cycle so the nozzle stays clear.
- Keep the head at the same small distance from every product; use guides on the conveyor.
- Keep products dry and dust free where the code goes.
- Use only the ink and make-up made for the printer; mixing fluids blocks the system.
Care and service
A CIJ printer is a working machine with fluids inside, so it needs a little routine care: top up ink and make-up when the screen asks, wipe the head with the recommended cleaner, and change filters at the interval in the manual. Keep the room ventilated, because solvent inks give off vapour, and keep flames away. Our team guides set-up and daily care on phone and WhatsApp, and ink, make-up and common spares are supplied.
CIJ printer vs thermal inkjet (TIJ) vs handheld printer

|---|---|---|---|
| How it prints | Continuous ink stream, drops steered onto the product | Sealed cartridge fires drops on demand | Cartridge printer rolled across the pack by hand |
| Distance to product | Prints from a few mm away; curved surfaces fine | Must be very close; flat surfaces best | Touches or rolls on the surface |
| Line speed | Fast, continuous lines | Moderate lines | Manual coding |

CIJ printer – frequently asked questions
What is a continuous inkjet (CIJ) printer?
A CIJ printer pumps ink through a tiny nozzle as a continuous stream of drops. Drops that form the code are charged and steered onto the product; the rest are caught and sent back to the ink tank. Because the drops fly a short distance, the head prints without touching the product, on flat, round or uneven surfaces, at high line speeds.
What can the BCT2000 print?
Batch numbers, MFG and EXP dates, MRP, shift codes, running serial numbers, text in several lines and, depending on the set-up, logos and simple 2D codes. Dates and counters change by themselves from the printer clock.
What is the price of the BCT2000 CIJ printer?
The BCT2000 series CIJ printer is ₹2,10,000 + ₹37,800 GST, that is ₹2,47,800 including all taxes. A GST invoice is raised in your company name for input credit.
CIJ or thermal inkjet (TIJ) – which should I buy?
Choose CIJ for fast lines, curved or uneven products such as bottles, cans, pipes and cables, and for printing from a distance. Choose a thermal inkjet printer for low maintenance and sharper small text on flat cartons and pouches at moderate speed.
What does a CIJ printer need for running?
Ink and make-up (solvent) fluid, and periodic filter changes. Start and stop the printer with its cleaning cycle so the nozzle stays clean. Running cost depends on how many hours a day it prints.
Will it print on plastic, glass and metal?
Yes. With a solvent based ink the code dries in seconds on PET and HDPE bottles, glass, metal cans, foil, cables and coated cartons. Send us a sample of your pack and the code you need, and we will confirm the ink.
