TIJ compared to CIJ
Continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers pump ink through a recirculating system and need regular servicing and make-up fluid. Thermal inkjet uses sealed cartridges: no solvents to top up, no daily flushing and very little to go wrong. TIJ codes are also sharper – up to 600 DPI – though the throw distance is shorter, so the head sits close to the pack.
