BOPP Tape Rolls

BOPP tape is what a carton sealer actually consumes, and the roll has to suit the machine as much as the carton. Machine-length rolls are long, so the operator stops to change tape less often - on a busy bench that is minutes saved every hour, not a small thing.

Hand rolls are the shorter standard lengths for manual taping, rework, and the odd carton that does not go through the machine. Most units that own a sealer still buy both.

Printed tape is the third part of the range - your own print, made to order. Buyers use it for brand visibility in transit, and just as often to make tampering obvious, because a printed seal that has been cut and re-taped is visible at the receiving dock.

Choosing the right one

The tape head on your machine is built for a width. Match it. A width that is close but not right will run crooked and waste more tape than it saves.

Then the length. Machine rolls come in longer lengths than hand rolls; the limit is what your machine's dispenser physically holds, so send us the model if you are not sure.

Then the surface you are sealing onto. Recycled and heavily printed corrugated board takes adhesive differently from new white-lined board, and cold storage changes it again. Tell us what your carton is and where it goes, and the grade is chosen for that rather than guessed.

What this range will not do

Tape does not hold a badly packed carton. If a box is over-filled and the flaps are under tension, the tape peels from the middle outwards no matter what grade it is.

Printed tape is not a security seal in the legal sense. It makes interference visible; it does not prevent it.

And a hand roll is not a machine roll cut short. The core and the wind are different and a hand roll on a machine dispenser will not run properly.
