What is a battery powered strapping tool like the 101BPT?

Inside the tool, a gripper holds the lower strap while a feed wheel draws the upper layer back until the tension you have set digitally is reached. A plate then rubs the two layers against each other at speed, the plastic softens from the friction and the layers fuse into one joint. A blade cuts the loose end. Strap from 0.5 to 1.0 mm thick suits it, and the body measures 375 x 130 x 140 mm.

Steel stockists, tile and timber yards, and anyone loading bulky items onto trucks get the most from it, because no hose or socket ties the operator to one spot. One charge is good for up to 200 cycles, so a busy site keeps a second battery on the charger. Bench work on one carton size goes faster on the 101H / 101L table, and a plant that already runs a compressor may prefer the pneumatic tool.

Strapping a pallet with the 101BPT – 4 steps

   Charge and checkFit a fully charged battery and confirm the strap in hand is PET or PP, between 13 and 16 mm wide.

   Set the tensionDial in tension on the digital setting: lighter for PP round boxed goods, firmer for PET round steel or tiles.

   Thread and pullPass the strap round the load, lay both ends in the tool, and start it so the strap draws tight.

   Weld and cutWait for the friction weld to finish and the blade to trim the tail, then lift the 3.9 kg tool clear.
