Understand the Requirement Before Buying a Shrink Machine

Start with the pack, not the machine:

• Retail look or transit bundle? A clear, close wrap on a gift box is POF film on an L-sealer; a group of bottles lifted by its film is a web sealer or the LDPE oven.
• How long is the item? Anything longer than an L-sealer frame needs the SL4518 side sealer.
• Is it a label, not a wrap? Sleeves and neck bands on bottles go through the S1538L or the steam S1838.
• How many an hour? A few hundred mixed packs a day suit hand placing and a chamber; a steady single format suits an automatic line.

Tips to Use Shrink Machines Correctly

1. Warm the tunnel fully before the first pack goes in.
2. Match belt speed to the film: slower for thicker film, faster for thin.
3. Leave room around the pack in the film so it can shrink without tearing.
4. Test heat-sensitive items such as thin mouldings or printed labels before a run.
5. Keep the compressed air at the rated pressure on the pneumatic sealers.
6. Let tunnels cool before cleaning or covering them.
