Rolls: the shape nothing is designed for

A fabric roll is heavy, round, and damaged by anything that presses into it. It will not sit still on a pallet, it will not stack squarely, and a strap pulled tight across it leaves a mark that is visible in the finished garment.

The workable arrangement is usually to wrap rather than to strap: film holds a roll stack together without a point load, and a turntable stretch wrapper will handle a palletised roll stack once the film force is set low enough not to deform the outer rolls. That last setting is the whole job, and it is worth setting against your own rolls rather than a default.

For the individual roll, a shrink packaging machine or a wrap by hand is more common than any machine, and we would rather say that than sell you something that does not suit the shape.

Cartons of cut pieces and made-ups are ordinary carton work — a semi automatic carton sealer and a strapper at the packing table.

Drums, carboys and the chemical belt

Vatva, Naroda and Odhav move an enormous number of drums, and most of the injuries around them happen at the tipping point rather than at the lift. A 200-litre drum is a two-person job that one person attempts.

A drum carrier and lifter grips the rim, raises it hydraulically and holds it on a safety lock. Check that lock before buying anything from anyone — a lifter whose lock is unreliable will eventually lower under load, and that is the failure that hurts somebody.

Capacity is quoted against a full steel drum. Plastic drums and carboys have different rim geometry and the jaw is not interchangeable, so say which you handle. If you handle both, say that too — it usually means two attachments rather than two machines.

For moving drums on a pallet rather than lifting them, a hydraulic hand pallet truck with the right capacity margin, and safety products for the people doing it.

Pharmaceutical and formulation lines

Ahmedabad's pharmaceutical base brings the same requirements as Mumbai's: a documented process, a stated material of contact, and an auditor with a form.

The filling, capping and labelling ranges are Fulcrum catalogue models — supplied, installed and serviced by Fulcrum Infratech Pvt. Ltd., not built at our Faridabad works. Being clear about that before an audit is easier than being clear about it during one.

Where the machines go in Ahmedabad

The estates are long-established and each has a character: Vatva GIDC and Naroda GIDC for chemicals and dyes, Odhav for engineering and plastics, Narol for textiles and processing, Changodar and Sanand out on the highway for the newer and larger plots, and Kathwada and Aslali on the ring.

Sanand is the one where a full palletised line is most likely to make sense, because the plots and the volumes are larger. Vatva and Naroda are drum and carton work.

Buying from Faridabad into Gujarat

A long road move, priced as one. The machine leaves run-tested, packed for the distance; prices are ex works with GST and freight shown separately.

Many Gujarat buyers have their own transporter on this route and prefer to use it. That is normal and often quicker — tell us and the machine is handed over packed and ready.

We will give you the despatch date on the day you ask and the docket number once it moves. There is no delivery day printed here, because the honest figure depends on the route and the week.

Spares and service

Wear parts are held in stock for every model we sell. At this distance the parts worth keeping on your own shelf are the ones that stop production: the heating element on a strapping machine, the blades on a sealer, the wheels and seal kit on a pallet truck, the jaw pads on a drum lifter.

Call rather than write for a fault. Most are settled on the phone with the machine in front of you, and at this distance that is much quicker than anything else.
