What is an 8 inch impulse sealer?
Counter space in a chemist shop or a busy kirana is always short, and the 8 inch Standard sealer needs very little of it. The whole machine weighs 1.8 kg, so it sits beside the billing screen during the day and goes under the counter at night. If your packs are small and you seal a few hundred of them daily, start here.
Typical work on this bar: 4 × 6 inch pouches of tea, jeera or seeds, 6 × 9 inch covers for tablet strips and cosmetics, and 7 × 10 inch packs holding 100 to 250 g of namkeen or toffees. That last one is the limit, because the mouth must stay under about 7.5 inch for the seal to run edge to edge.

Getting clean seals on the 8 inch
- Thin seed and sample film burns through easily; begin on dial 1 or 2 and go higher only if the seal peels.
- Tap churna and masala down before sealing; fine powder on the inner lip leaves tiny channels that let air back in.
- Centre a 7 × 10 inch pouch on the bar so neither corner hangs past the heated length.
- At closing time, clear sugar dust and churna off the Teflon strip; left overnight, they stick and mark the next seal.
Daily care for the 8 inch bar
The 200 mm element is short, so it heats and cools quickly, and most small-pouch work sits in the lower half of the 8-level dial. As a starting range, try 1 to 3 for thin seed and sample film, 3 to 5 for regular PE tea and masala pouches, and higher numbers only for thicker PP or PE-lined laminate covers. Look at the Teflon strip each morning; a brown or torn patch on such a short bar spoils every pouch, so change it from the spare in the box. If the seal turns weak along its whole length even at a higher dial, the element is probably worn and should be swapped.

Bigger bag, or a Heavy Duty counter?
This is already the smallest size, so the only move is up. Once 8 × 10 inch bread or dry-fruit bags enter the shop, the 10 inch is next; garment covers call for the 12 inch. Stay on the Standard model if the sealer works in short bursts between customers. If someone presses it from opening to closing, as in the Diwali rush, the Heavy Duty 8 inch with its 5-year cover is safer.

Can a chemist seal tablet strips in pouches on this machine?
Yes. Strips go into a small PE or PP cover, usually 4 × 6 or 6 × 9 inch, and the 200 mm bar closes it in a single press. Keep the dial low, because these medicine covers are made of thin film.
Will it seal the silver foil packs some spice brands use?
Plain foil or metallised pouches are a hot bar job, not an impulse job. Laminates with a PE inner layer can be sealed, up to 150 micron for the two layers together, so check what the inside face of your pouch is.
Are spare parts packed in the box?
Two extra heating elements and one extra Teflon tape come with the machine, along with the manual and warranty card. Both parts are wear parts that get replaced over time, while the machine itself carries a 2-year warranty.
Is the 8 inch enough for a home masala business?
For 50 g to 250 g packs of masala or namkeen, yes. When you start packing 500 g or 1 kg, the pouch width usually crosses 7.5 inch and a 10 or 12 inch bar becomes necessary.
Can it seal zip-lock pouches below the zip?
Yes, if the pouch is PE or PP and its width below the zip is under 7.5 inch. Seal just under the zip strip, so the pack shows plainly if it has been opened before sale.
Can it seal very thin 20 micron bags without holes?
Thin film seals cleanly on this short bar when the dial stays low. Start at 1, keep the arm down for the full pulse, and raise one step only if the seal pulls apart; holes mean the number is too high.
