What is a 24 inch impulse sealer?
When a bag is too wide for every other hand sealer we make, it goes to the 24 inch. The 600 mm bar seals blanket covers, grain liners and over-bags up to 23 inch across in one press. With a 700 W element and 5.9 kg weight, the Standard model is a table machine for home-textile units, grain traders and factories sealing a few hundred bags a day.
Common bags here are 20 × 30 inch covers for blankets, quilts and bedsheets, 22 inch PE liners inside woven grain and pulse sacks, and wide industrial poly bags that keep dust off spare parts and cartons. Cushion and soft-toy sellers close large covers before boxing, and mattress and furniture shops seal protective covers with it.

Working with 23 inch wide bags
- A long bag needs support at both ends; set a board or second table level with the bar so nothing sags.
- Laying a 600 mm mouth straight takes two hands, so place the machine where the operator can stand square to it.
- Quilt covers trap a lot of air; press it out towards the mouth before closing, or the film stretches at the seal.
- Inspect the whole Teflon tape every week, because a single burn mark anywhere along 600 mm shows up in every seal.
Caring for the 24 inch bar
With a 600 mm element drawing 700 W, the 24 inch rewards a steady routine. Before work, stretch a scrap bag across the bar and make a test seal; pull it at both ends and the middle to confirm the heat is even. Blanket covers in thin LDPE need a lower dial number than grain liners or industrial poly, so keep a written list beside the machine. Lint from quilts and grain dust both settle on the Teflon strip; wipe the whole length when work stops. A long strip creases easily, so smooth it flat when fitting a spare, and change the element when seals stay patchy.

Do you really need 24 inch?
If your widest bag is a 10 kg rice pack under 19.5 inch, the 20 inch is lighter and does the same work. If you never seal wide bags at all, a 12 inch is far easier to handle. Anything beyond 23 inch needs a foot sealing machine. Stay with this Standard model for daily batches; long shifts of wide covers point to the Heavy Duty 24 inch and its 5-year warranty.

Can one person operate the 24 inch?
Yes, the arm is pressed with one hand, but laying a long, floppy cover straight is easier with a helper or a support table on the far side. Rigid over-bags are simpler to handle than soft quilt covers.
Will it seal a grain liner that is already inside a woven sack?
Yes. Pull the PE liner up out of the sack so only the liner's mouth goes across the bar. Seal the liner first, then close the outer sack separately.
How much bench space does it need?
The bar alone is 600 mm long, so plan for a table of at least a metre to hold the machine plus the bag on either side. A wall-side bench works if the far end of the bag can still be supported.
Can it seal thick laminate covers?
Very thick laminates need a hot bar sealer. PE, LDPE, HDPE, PP and PE-lined laminate film suit this bar, provided the two layers of the bag add up to no more than 150 micron.
Can it be used on the floor without a table?
It needs a firm table. The 600 mm bar and 5.9 kg body should not be worked on the floor, and a long cover needs support level with the bar so the seal is not pulled while it cools.
Will it seal mattress covers?
Protective covers wider than 23 inch need a foot sealing machine with a longer bar. Smaller covers for cushions, pillows and folded mattress toppers fit across the 600 mm bar.
