Understand the Requirement Before Buying a Strapping Machine

A few plain answers about your own packing decide the model far better than a brochure does. Settle these first:

• Can the load be lifted onto a table? If yes, a strapping machine does the job. A pallet, a steel coil, a stack of tiles or a timber bundle is strapped where it stands, with a hand tool.
• Who puts the carton in the arch? An operator at a semi automatic table, a person feeding an offline automatic, or the conveyor itself on an online machine.
• Which strap does your store already buy? PP, PET or steel, and in what width. The machine is chosen to suit the strap, not the other way round.
• How hard will it be worked? In bursts between other jobs, or without a break for the whole shift.
• What supply is on the floor? An ordinary single phase socket, a 440 V three phase line, a compressed air line, or nothing at all.

What Are the Types of Strapping Machines?

Semi Automatic Strapping Machine, Arch Type

The bench machine most packing halls start with. It runs from a single phase socket, takes about 1.5 to 2.5 seconds a strap (roughly 1,200 straps an hour) and weighs about 85 to 100 kg. Rate ₹51,310 + ₹9,236 GST.

Low Table Top Strapping Machine

The same idea in a smaller, lower body for light cartons and short benches, at about 0.25 kW. A lower working surface means less lifting for an operator who straps small boxes for hours. Rate ₹34,150 + ₹6,147 GST.

101 Series Semi Automatic Tables

The 101H has a 750 mm table and the 101L a 500 mm one; the 101HD adds a 2.5 mm table top for sharp or heavy goods. All three take 6 to 15 mm strap. 101H / 101L from ₹47,936 + ₹8,628 GST; 101HD ₹56,089 + ₹10,096 GST.

740H Heavy Duty Semi Automatic

For long shifts and large cartons: 1.5 seconds a strap, tension 15 to 45 kg, a 780 mm table and 0.5 kW. Rate ₹1,17,376 + ₹21,128 GST.

Fully Automatic Strapping Machine, Touch HMI

An 800 × 600 mm arch as standard (other sizes to order), single phase at about 0.75 kW, and up to about 1,500 straps an hour. Rate ₹2,43,350 + ₹43,803 GST.

101F Offline and 101FF Online Automatics

Both work 9 or 12 mm strap on 440 V three phase. The 101F needs someone to place the carton; the 101FF sits in the conveyor line at about 2.15 seconds a strap. 101F from ₹2,29,376 + ₹41,288 GST; 101FF from ₹4,92,800 + ₹88,704 GST.

102PLS Taping and Strapping Combo

Tapes the carton and straps it in one pass, rated at 20 cartons a minute, with 50 or 76 mm tape. Rate from ₹4,04,992 + ₹72,899 GST.

Pneumatic, Battery and Manual Strapping Tools

For loads that cannot travel to a machine. The pneumatic tool tensions, seals and cuts PP or PET strap off a 5 to 7 bar air line in about 3 to 5 seconds (₹20,500 + ₹3,690 GST). Tips to Use a Strapping Machine Correctly

1. Feed machine-grade strap only. Strap meant for hand tools tends to snag in a machine feed and is behind most sudden jams.
2. Match the width exactly. Even a fraction of a millimetre off can block the feed path, so check the coil now in the machine before reordering.
3. Seal the carton first. Strap over unsealed flaps holds them only as long as the strap stays tight; tape or glue the carton before strapping.
4. Strap only a stable load. A band tightened round a leaning stack only drags it further out of line. Square it up first.
5. Leave room on the coil side. If the machine is jammed into a corner, swapping an empty coil becomes a slow, awkward job.
6. Give the air tool clean, dry air. Weak, wet or fluctuating air from an overloaded compressor gives slack straps long before the tool is at fault.
