What is a vertical vacuum packing machine?

The seal bar sits 1250 mm above the floor, with the pouch hanging below it. A 750 W motor runs a pump of 20 cubic metre per hour, and an 1100 W air compressor supplies the air the machine needs. Bars come in 600, 700, 800 or 1000 mm lengths and seal a 10 mm band at 600 or 1000 W. Single layer film up to 0.18 mm thick can be used. Power is 380 V, 50 Hz.

Pickle makers, gravy and curry producers, paneer units and meat or fish processors gain most, along with caterers sealing wide bulk packs on the longer bars. The machine weighs 255 kg and needs a 380 V three phase point plus compressed air at the spot. Dry goods gain nothing from standing upright and move faster on the VP2SB double chamber.

Packing pickle pouches on the VP600V – 4 steps

   Fill with headroomFill the pouch so the oil and masala stay well below the mouth, leaving clean film for the seal.

   Hang it uprightPlace the pouch with its mouth across the bar at 1250 mm height and the body hanging straight down.

   Draw air and sealStart the cycle. The 20 cubic metre per hour pump removes the air, then the bar seals a 10 mm band.

   Check for seepageLift the pouch out and look at the seal for any oil. If some shows, fill the next pouch a little lower.
