What is a shrink chamber?

Heaters drawing 4 kW on 220 V, 50 Hz warm the air inside the chamber. The operator puts a film-sealed box in for its heat cycle, and the circulating hot air draws the film tight around every face. That pack then comes out and the next one goes in. The overall frame is 1945 x 795 x 1080 mm and weighs 80 kg, so it fits into a small packing room without much fuss.

Home-run gift brands, cosmetic resellers and sweet makers packing festive boxes use it when shrink work comes in bursts. It needs an L-sealer in front, since the chamber only shrinks. When packs start queuing for the next cycle, move up to a tunnel line, such as the 5545A for boxes or the WS6540 for bottle bundles.

Wrapping a festive box in the SC5540 – 4 steps

   Check the sizeMake sure the box, with its film, sits inside 500 x 375 x 250 mm and stays clear of the chamber walls.

   Seal the filmClose the film around the box on your L-sealer, leaving the pack loosely and evenly covered on all sides.

   Run the heat cyclePlace the pack in the chamber, which draws 4 kW, and let the hot air shrink the film snug.

   Remove and checkTake the pack out carefully, let it cool briefly, and look for tight, smooth corners before loading the next box.
