What is a platform trolley?

Two of the castors are fixed and two swivel. The fixed pair keeps the trolley tracking straight on long runs, and the swivel pair lets you turn in tight aisles and doorways. Castors come in rubber or PU to suit the floor. The deck sits low, so stacked boxes stay steady and loading is easy on the back. The trolley itself weighs about 12 to 20 kg, light enough to lift into a van.

Wholesalers, retail stockrooms, small factories, print shops and offices use it for the many short moves between store, packing table and dispatch. Full pallets belong on a hand pallet truck, and uneven outdoor ground calls for the WB75 barrow. If the trolley must fold into a car between visits, look at the LT foldable trolley instead.

Moving cartons on a platform trolley – 4 steps

   Stack heavy firstPut the heaviest cartons flat on the deck and lighter ones on top, without letting anything hang over the edge.

   Check the weightKeep the total within your model's limit, which is between 150 and 300 kg depending on the version.

   Push from the handleWalk behind and push; the fixed castors hold a straight line while the swivel ones take the turns.

   Park safelyStop on level floor, or use a brake if fitted on a slope, before unloading at the packing table or dock.
