What is a truck loading conveyor?

Cartons are placed on a flat loading section 0.75 metre long, at a collection height of 600 mm. The belt then climbs a 2 metre incline to the delivery end. It runs at a fixed 20 metres per minute, which works out to roughly 15 to 25 cartons a minute depending on box size. Keep the load within 35 kg on each metre of belt. Power comes from a 3 phase, 440 V AC supply.

Warehouses, FMCG distributors and e-commerce hubs that load many cartons a day, with or without a raised dock, are the natural users. Because the belt also runs in reverse, it helps when unloading inward stock. Someone still stands inside the truck to stack the boxes. Palletised goods move better on a hand pallet truck across a dock.

Loading a truck with the TLC – 4 steps

   Set the delivery heightRaise or lower the outlet end to suit the truck bed, up to 1500 mm, and place it at the open door.

   Choose directionSelect forward for loading, or reverse when unloading, and start the 440 V drive.

   Feed the cartonsPlace boxes one by one on the 600 mm high loading section, keeping within 35 kg per metre of belt.

   Stack insideOne person in the truck takes each carton off the end and builds the load, at about 15 to 25 a minute.
