What is a hydraulic reel stacker?

Clamp arms close on the outer face of the reel under hydraulic pressure. The mast then lifts the clamped reel as high as 1600 mm, and the clamp head rotates through 180 degrees, so a reel stored on its side can be turned to line up with a shaft. Traction is electric, which means the machine drives itself with the load on board. The legs stand about 1600 mm apart on the inside.

Natural users are printers, flexible packaging lines, film converters and paper plants where reels are swapped often during a shift. Measure each machine's shaft height; all of them must fall within the 1600 mm lift. It is a reel handler only. For pallets on racks, use the PS2.0 or PS1.5S stacker, and for floor-level pallet moves, a hand pallet truck.

Loading a reel onto a press with the RS1.0 – 4 steps

   Open the clampDrive up to the reel and set the arms wider than its diameter, which must fall between 700 and 1270 mm.

   Grip and liftClose the clamp firmly on the reel, confirm the weight is within 1000 kg, and raise it clear of the floor.

   Rotate if neededTurn the clamp head up to 180 degrees so the core lines up with the shaft of the press or slitter.

   Drive and placeMove slowly to the unwind stand, lift to shaft height, slide the reel on and then release the clamp.
