What is a tea vacuum packing machine?

The machine measures 380 x 320 x 360 mm and weighs 25 kg, so one person can set it on a counter. The pouch goes in, the air is drawn out, and the mouth is heat sealed shut. It takes 5 A input current at 220 V / 50 Hz, which an ordinary shop socket can supply. Fine tea dust can travel with the escaping air, so fill level and a clean pouch mouth decide how good each seal is.

Tea retailers packing blends to order, small coffee brands and spice packers running short lots are the usual users. Dust, fannings and leaf grades each behave a little differently, so the hardest grade should guide the setting. Large pouches or factory volumes belong on the VP single chamber range, powders meant as hard square packs need the SV650, and wet foods go to the VP600V.

Packing a tea pouch on the VP250 – 4 steps

   Fill below the mouthSpoon the tea in, leaving a clear gap at the top so dust does not settle on the seal line.

   Wipe and placeWipe the inside of the mouth clean and set the pouch in position, with the mouth lying flat and straight.

   Vacuum and sealStart the cycle. The machine draws the air out and heat seals the pouch, all on its 120 W, 220 V supply.

   Check and storePress the pouch to feel that it is firm, look along the seal for gaps, then box the pack for sale.
