What is an electric can sealing machine?

The filled can sits on a base plate with its lid on top, and a chuck holds the lid while the can turns. A first roller curls the lid edge and the can flange together into a hook; a second roller then presses that curl flat into a firm joint. The PCB panel sets the pace between 10 and 25 cans a minute, and the motor draws only 150 W.

Ghee and oil packers, food processors and lubricant firms that already sell in tins are the usual buyers, wanting to close them on their own floor. Each set-up suits one can diameter, so plan your sizes before ordering. Allow about 600 by 340 mm of floor for a 70 kg iron-bodied machine. Screw-cap bottles belong on the CL40 instead.

Seaming a ghee tin on the ECS150 – 4 steps

   Set for the canFit the parts for your can diameter, inside 39 to 150 mm, and set the height for tins up to 200 mm.

   Place can and lidWipe the rim clean, put the lid squarely on the filled can and stand it on the base plate.

   Run the seamStart the cycle from the PCB panel; the rollers form and press the seam at 10 to 25 cans a minute.

   Cut and measureAt regular intervals, cut open a sealed sample and measure the seam with a gauge rather than trusting your eye.
