What is a liquid pouch packing machine?

Film runs from the reel over a former that shapes it into an upright tube. A vertical jaw seals the long edge, a horizontal jaw closes the bottom, and a measured quantity of liquid drops in. The next jaw stroke seals the top of this pouch and the bottom of the following one, then cuts them apart. At full pace it turns out up to 1000 pouches an hour on 1750 W.

It suits plants that pack liquid every day: a village dairy, a water unit or an oil packer selling refill pouches. Pouches can be as long as 210 mm and as wide as 170 mm, with 50 mm the minimum for both. Plan for a 450 kg machine standing 1920 mm tall. Shelf life depends on the film and filling temperature more than on the machine. Bottles need the LF Series instead.

Packing milk pouches on the LP1000 – 4 steps

   Load the filmMount the roll and thread it over the former so the tube closes evenly around the filling pipe.

   Set dose and sizeChoose a fill between 200 and 1000 ml and set the pouch length within 50 to 210 mm to suit it.

   Warm the jawsLet the sealing jaws come up to temperature, then run a few empty pouches to check that the seams are even.

   Run and checkStart filling, squeeze some finished pouches to look for leaks and keep output close to 1000 an hour.
