What is a carton edge sealing machine like the 5050J?

Inside, the carton is first taped along its centre seam on the top and bottom faces. Further heads then lay tape across both end edges of those faces, so each face carries three strips forming an H. Compressed air at 0.5 to 0.6 MPa works the moving parts, while the drive draws 850 W. A heavy 400 kg frame keeps everything steady as cartons up to 30 kg run across the 750 mm table.

This machine suits electronics, appliances, medicines, valuable goods and export cartons that pass through several hands before reaching the buyer. Cartons must sit between 320 x 200 x 180 mm and 500 x 500 x 500 mm. Allow a clear, level spot of about 1955 x 1060 mm with a straight route in. For smaller boxes, or light packs stacked low, a centre-seam sealer such as the 102TU or 102TUS is enough.

   Choose the tapeLoad BOPP, PVC or water free tape in 60 or 76 mm, deciding first where tape may cross the printed face.

   Feed the closed cartonFold the flaps and send the carton in; centre and edge strips go on top and bottom in one run.
