12.7mm Handheld Inkjet Printer Metal Body
Short Description
A 12.7 mm handheld inkjet printer is a battery-powered date and batch coder that you roll across a pouch, bottle, box or label by hand. It prints text, MFG and EXP dates, batch numbers, MRP, logos, barcodes and QR codes up to 12.7 mm (half an inch) tall. A metal housing is stiffer and stands up better to drops, knocks and all-day handling on a busy packing floor, in a warehouse or at a loading bay. The printer, one ink cartridge and the charger come in the box.

What is a 12.7 mm handheld inkjet printer?
12.7 mm (half an inch) is the print height most packers in India need: enough for a three- or four-line code of batch number, MFG date, EXP date and MRP in clear, small characters that fit on a pouch, cap, label or mono carton.
Because the code is small and sharp, it suits food, pharma, cosmetic and FMCG packs where space is short, and it is the lowest-cost way to stop writing dates by hand or using a rubber stamp.
Coding with a handheld inkjet printer – 4 steps
- 1Put in the cartridge and switch onClip the ink cartridge into the printer and switch it on. The touch screen opens the last message you saved.
- 2Make the messageType the text and add MFG and EXP dates, a batch counter, MRP, a logo, a barcode or a QR code. Save it under a name.
- 3Roll it across the packHold the printer flat against the surface, start printing and roll it across at one even speed.
- 4Check and carry onThe ink dries in seconds, so the next pack can be stacked straight away. Dates change by themselves from the printer clock.
- Up to 12.7 mm tall
- 1–5 lines
- 4.3″ touch screen
- Up to 600 DPI
- Quick-dry ink
- Barcode & QR

Metal body or plastic body, 12.7 mm or 25.4 mm – compare the 4 models
All four PackForge handheld inkjet printers have the same 4.3-inch touch screen and print the same kinds of codes. Two things differ: the tallest code they print, and the outer body.
| Model | Max print height | Body | Price + GST | With GST |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25.4 mm, metal body | 25.4 mm (1 inch) | Metal housing | ₹16,905 + ₹3,043 GST | ₹19,948 |
| 25.4 mm, plastic body | 25.4 mm (1 inch) | Hard plastic housing | ₹15,210 + ₹2,738 GST | ₹17,948 |
| 12.7 mm, metal body (this page) | 12.7 mm (½ inch) | Metal housing | ₹10,530 + ₹1,895 GST | ₹12,425 |
| 12.7 mm, plastic body | 12.7 mm (½ inch) | Hard plastic housing | ₹8,835 + ₹1,590 GST | ₹10,425 |
Metal body: A metal housing is stiffer and stands up better to drops, knocks and all-day handling on a busy packing floor, in a warehouse or at a loading bay. Plastic body: A plastic housing is lighter in the hand and costs less. It suits shops, small units and coding a few hundred packs a day.

Ink cartridge – one in the box, more when you need them
The printer comes with a 12.7 mm (half inch) quick-drying black solvent ink cartridge, fitted and ready to print after unpacking. Solvent ink dries in seconds on surfaces that do not soak it up, such as plastic film, PET and HDPE bottles, glass, metal and foil, so the code does not smear when packs touch.
How long one cartridge lasts depends on the size of the code and the resolution: a small two-line date code uses far less ink than a large logo. Keep a spare cartridge for busy days. For replacements see TIJ ink cartridges and the 2590 black solvent cartridge (12.7 mm), or send a photo of your cartridge on WhatsApp and we will confirm the right one.
- Close the cartridge cap when the printer is not in use, so the nozzles do not dry.
- Wipe the nozzle plate with a lint-free cloth if a line goes missing.
- Store spare cartridges upright, in a cool place away from flame.
Who uses it
- Food, snack, spice and namkeen packers coding pouches and jars.
- Pharma, Ayurvedic and cosmetic units printing batch, MFG and EXP on cartons and bottles.
- Bakeries, dairies and sweet shops dating boxes, cups and trays.
- Small FMCG and home businesses replacing hand-written dates and rubber stamps.
- Spare-part and hardware sellers printing part numbers and QR codes on boxes.
Tips for clean, readable codes
- Roll the printer at one steady speed; stopping half-way stretches or squeezes the letters.
- Keep the surface dry and free of dust and oil where the code goes.
- On curved bottles and pipes, roll along the length, not around the curve.
- Use the resolution setting: lower DPI for big codes on cartons saves ink, higher DPI for small text and QR codes.
- Charge the battery fully before a long run.
