What gets packed in Delhi

Delhi's packing is dominated by trade rather than by manufacture. Goods arrive made, are held for days rather than months, and go out in mixed loads to buyers who each want something slightly different. Karol Bagh, Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar and the Bhagirath Palace electrical market all work this way, and so do the garment and hosiery agents around Gandhi Nagar.

That shapes the machine. A trader's carton changes size every week, the run is fifty boxes rather than five thousand, and there is no room for a conveyor. What is needed is a bench that seals and straps reliably and can be moved when the shop is rearranged — which happens more often than anyone plans for.

The second Delhi pattern is fulfilment. A large share of what leaves the city now goes out as single parcels to a courier, packed against a marketplace's dimensional rules rather than against a pallet. Here the constraint is not speed but consistency: a carton sealed unevenly is a carton that gets re-measured and re-charged.

Which machines suit a Delhi packing bench

For a bench that changes carton size constantly, a semi automatic strapping machine is usually the right first machine. It takes whatever box you put on it, the strap tension is set once, and the operator does not need to be trained beyond being shown the loop. The low table top version is the one to look at where floor space is genuinely short — it sits at working height on an existing table.

For sealing, a semi automatic carton sealer handles a fixed size well; where the size changes every run, the honest answer is often that a hand tape dispenser and a strapper beat a sealer you have to re-set all day. We will say so rather than sell you the bigger machine. Where the volume genuinely justifies it — courier packing at scale — an automatic random carton sealer earns its place, because it measures each box itself.

Movement inside a Delhi godown is usually a trolley job rather than a pallet job. Material handling trolleys and, where there is a level floor and pallets, a hydraulic hand pallet truck cover most of it.
