What we sell for coding, and what we do not
PackForge does not list a handheld or online inkjet coder, so this page does not quote one. It lists the ink cartridge for coders that take the HP 2590 (W3T10B) slot, two band sealers that put a date into the seal as the pouch passes, and a thermal printer for date stickers. The table gives each with its GST.
What changes the cost of coding
The method. A date embossed in the seal adds no consumable once the band sealer is bought; ink coding uses cartridges; labels use thermal paper. The surface. Film, foil, glass and metal need a solvent ink; paper and board take ink easily. The volume. A few hundred packs a day suit a handheld coder or labels; a pouch line suits coding in the sealer. The information. A short date fits in a seal; MRP, batch and dates together usually need ink or a label.
Cartridge price and buying in quantity
The 2590 Solvent Black is ₹3,099 + ₹558 GST, against an MRP of ₹3,779. Buying more than one lowers the rate in the cart, from 2 pieces upwards, and above 50 pieces you can ask for a separate rate. Delivery is free across India and every order has a GST invoice. Store spare cartridges capped and upright somewhere cool so none are wasted.
Coding inside the sealing machine
The CS900 continuous band sealer, from ₹12,812 + ₹2,306 GST, embosses a date code as it seals, at up to 12 metres a minute. The CS1100, at ₹95,872 + ₹17,257 GST, prints a batch or date mark with a steel wheel on bags up to 10 kg. If you are buying a band sealer anyway, decide the code format at the same time, so the right characters are fitted from the start.
Running cost per pack
The price of the coding tool is only part of it. With ink coding, the running cost is the cartridges you use; with labels, the thermal paper; with a code embossed in the seal, there is no consumable at all once the band sealer is bought. Ask how many packs you code in a month and how much of each pack the code covers, and the cheapest method for your volume usually becomes clear. For the 2590, store spares capped and upright so none dry out before use.
