PackForge 7 HP Petrol Power Weeder, Gear Drive

What is a 7 HP petrol power weeder?

The petrol engine sends drive through a gearbox to the shaft that holds the blades. Unlike a belt, gears do not slip when the tines hit moist or hard ground, so the rotor keeps cutting. Width can be set from about 800 to 1,000 mm by adding or removing blades, and the tines work roughly 100 to 250 mm deep, depending on the soil. Fuel goes into a 3.6 litre petrol tank.

Use it between vegetable rows, along young sugarcane, around orchard trees and on small plots where a tractor has no room to turn. At 75 to 90 kg it is far easier to handle than the diesel model. If it will run full days for hire, look at the 7 HP diesel weeder; for polyhouse beds, the 63 CC mini weeder fits better.

Weeding cane rows with the 7 HP petrol – 4 steps

2. 2
Fuel upFill the 3.6 litre tank with petrol and check the engine oil before every session in the field.
3. 3
Start and lowerStart the engine at the headland, then let the tines bite to the depth your soil allows, up to about 250 mm.
4. 4
Guide, do not forceWalk at the machine's own pace along the row. Avoid stones and old roots, which bend tines and load the gears.
