Nitrogen Flushing Band Sealer
A nitrogen flushing band sealer blows gas into each pouch just before the seal closes, on a moving belt. PackForge offers it as the CS900AF, and as the CVS900, which draws a vacuum first and then back-fills with gas.
Why flush a pouch with gas
Two different problems lead buyers here. The first is breakage: chips and other brittle snacks crumble in a flat pack, so the pouch is puffed with air to act as a cushion. The second is staleness: roasted nuts, dry fruit, coffee and spices go off when oxygen sits in the pack, so nitrogen is used to push the oxygen out. Air does the first job; nitrogen does both.
Gas only stays in a pouch whose film can hold it, so the pouch structure counts as much as the sealer; ask your pouch supplier for the film structure before you order.
Before choosing, look at your returns: crushed packs point to air cushioning, stale or rancid taste points to oxygen, and both together point to nitrogen.

Choose the CS900AF when a gas flush is enough. Choose the CVS900 when you want a firmer, more compact pack with most of the air removed before the gas goes in.
Band sealer with nitrogen flushing or a chamber vacuum machine?
A chamber machine makes the operator load, close, wait and unload every cycle. The CVS900 skips that loading time because pouches feed continuously through the belts, so a coffee roaster, dry fruit trader or spice brand packing many identical pouches keeps one person feeding instead of waiting. A chamber machine is still the right tool for rigid trays, jars and boxes, and when a deep vacuum is required – see the vacuum packing machines.
Gas supply and pouch checks
- Gas source: cylinders or a nitrogen generator, with the pressure available at the machine.
- Film: a barrier laminate for shelf life; the CVS900 lists up to 0.08 mm single layer, so share a sample if yours is multi-layer.
- Product: whole beans and nuts behave well under vacuum; fine powders tend to be pulled towards the seal, so trial your own product first.
- Mouth: powder or oil on the seal line spoils the seal however good the flush.
Shelf life: what can and cannot be promised
There is no standard figure. How much longer a pack lasts depends on what is inside and whether the film keeps the gas in, so store real packs and taste them over weeks before you print a later expiry date. Where oxygen is not what limits your shelf life, the plain CS900 is cheaper to run; a nitrogen flushing version of the CS900 is also available on request.
Typical products and set-up
The CS900AF is bought by chips makers whose packs reach shops crushed, and by dry fruit and spice brands whose stock turns stale before sale. The CVS900 suits coffee roasters, dry fruit traders, spice brands and component packers who want a tight, low-air pouch without a chamber machine.
Both stand on height-adjustable frames – the CVS900 from 940 to 1080 mm – so the belt can be set to the operator. The CS900AF conveyor is 930 × 153 mm and the machine 1050 × 560 × 900 mm overall; the CVS900 weighs 85 kg. Power is modest: 835 W for the CS900AF and 875 W for the CVS900, pump included, which a properly wired single phase socket can carry.
Price and ordering
The CS900AF starts at ₹40,320 + ₹7,258 GST and the CVS900 at from ₹1,10,208 + ₹19,837 GST. Both come in more than one version, listed on their product pages. All band sealers are compared on the band sealing machine price list, and the choice of film, speed and pack weight is explained in the band sealer buying guide. Delivery is free across India with a GST invoice; warranty is 12 months on manufacturing defects, wear parts excluded.
Frequently Asked Questions
Air or nitrogen: which should I use?
Use air to puff up a pack so brittle snacks survive the journey; use nitrogen to displace oxygen when staleness is the problem. Nitrogen covers both.
Does the CS900AF draw a vacuum?
No. It flushes air or nitrogen in before the seal. The CVS900 draws a vacuum first and then back-fills with gas.
Will nitrogen flushing double my shelf life?
Nobody can promise a set number of extra days. The result varies with the product and the pouch film, so trial real packs before changing an expiry date.
Can a gas flushing band sealer pack powder?
Fine powders tend to be pulled towards the seal during evacuation on the CVS900. Lower the fill, keep the mouth clean and trial your product.
Do I need a nitrogen generator?
You need a nitrogen source: cylinders or a generator. Share what you have or plan, and the pressure available, before ordering.
Which is cheaper to run, the CS900AF or the CVS900?
Both draw under 1 kW: 835 W for the CS900AF and 875 W for the CVS900 including its pump. Gas use depends on your pouch size and settings.
