Packaging and drum handling machines for Bhiwadi

Bhiwadi is NCR industry on Rajasthan land, and it took the processes that needed room: chemicals, steel, paints, auto components. Drums and heavy pallets are what leave here, not cartons.

Bhiwadi Industrial Area · Bhiwadi, Rajasthan

Bhiwadi and the RIICO industrial areas around it — Chopanki, Khushkhera, Tapukara — sit inside the NCR's economic pull but on Rajasthan's plots and power. Chemicals and paints, steel and pipes, auto components, cement products and general engineering.

Our works are at Faridabad, an hour or so up the road on the other side of the Haryana border. This page covers the two things this belt genuinely needs — drums handled without somebody getting hurt, and strapping that holds weight over a long haul.

Drums, and the failure that hurts somebody

Bhiwadi's drum problem has a local edge that estates further east do not share: drums stand outside, and Rajasthan summers do something to them.

A drum that has been in the sun is pressurised. The headspace expands, the lid domes slightly, and the bung is under load. Opening one in the afternoon is a different operation from opening one at eight in the morning, and it is worth having a written rule about which. No equipment we sell changes that; a page about drum handling that did not mention it would be leaving out the part that matters most.

Rim geometry decides the jaw, and it is not standard. A tight-head steel drum, an open-top with a lever ring, and a moulded plastic drum have three different rims. A jaw sized for one will slip on another, and slip is the failure that hurts somebody. Tell us which types you actually handle — if it is more than one, that is usually two attachments on one machine rather than two machines.

The bung position matters for storage, not just for pouring. Drums stored with the bungs at the wrong clock position collect water in the lid recess, and that water gets drawn in as the drum cools overnight. It is a housekeeping point, but it is the one that turns into a contamination claim.

None of the above is solved by a machine, which is the honest point of a page like this. What a machine does is take the tipping point out of the lift; the rest is procedure, and the procedure is what we would ask about first.

Steel, pipes and the strap that has to hold

A bundle of pipes or a stack of sheet settles in transit and the strap goes slack. A slack strap is worse than no strap, because it lets the load move inside its own bundle where nobody can see it.

Repeatable tension is the fix, and for bundles no arch will take, a pneumatic strapping tool applied where the load stands. For boxed and palletised work, a semi automatic strapping machine.

Strap width and thickness decide the break load. Tell us the bundle weight and the journey and we will specify against them rather than against a general description.

Auto components, and packing to somebody else's standard

Bhiwadi's component plants supply into the same OEM networks as Manesar, and the same rule applies: if your customer has issued a packing standard, it decides the machine.

Send it with the enquiry. It contains the pallet size, the stack height, the wrap pattern and often the film thickness — everything the machine has to be sized against, already written down.

Where the standard is not achievable with the film you currently buy, we will say so before the machine arrives rather than after.

Buying across the state line

Crossing into Rajasthan changes the invoice, not the machine. Say at the enquiry which state the goods are being billed into, because getting that right on the first quotation saves a revision later.

If your purchase system needs a vendor onboarding form or an MSME declaration completed, send it along with the enquiry. It comes back with the quotation, which is the point in the process where it costs nothing.

On timing, we do not publish a figure. Ask on the day and you get the despatch date for the model you are asking about, and the transporter's docket number as soon as it moves — the two numbers your own plan actually runs on.

Water, and why a Bhiwadi pallet arrives wet

This belt is dry for most of the year, which is exactly why the wet weeks catch people out — nobody has a procedure for something that happens twice a year.

The failure is not rain falling on a wrapped pallet. It is condensation. A pallet that stands in a yard overnight and is loaded in the morning carries moisture into the trailer, and a trailer that warms through the day puts that moisture back onto the cartons at the top of the load. The consignment arrives with damp cartons and nobody can point to when it got wet.

Film traps that moisture rather than keeping it out. A pallet wrapped while damp stays damp. If loads are standing outside before despatch, they want covering rather than wrapping until they are ready to move — and the wrapper wants to be under cover, not in the yard.

The other half is the pallet itself. A wooden pallet that has stood in a wet yard is heavier and weaker than a dry one, and it is the thing that fails on a fork rather than the load. If your pallets live outside, that is worth looking at before anything else on this page.

Questions from buyers in Bhiwadi Industrial Area

Our drums stand outside. Does that change anything?

Yes, and it is the most important thing on this page. A drum that has been in the sun is pressurised — the lid domes and the bung is under load. Opening one at four in the afternoon is a different operation from opening one at eight in the morning, and that belongs in a written rule rather than in an operator's judgement.

Which jaw for a lever-ring drum?

Not the one for a tight-head. Three rim types, three geometries, and a jaw sized for the wrong one slips. Tell us the types you actually handle and photograph a rim if you are unsure.

Our pipe bundle straps go slack on the road.

The bundle is settling. Repeatable tension and a strap specified for the bundle weight and the journey fix it; a hand tool that varies with the operator does not.

Do you complete vendor onboarding and MSME forms?

Yes. Send the form your purchase system uses and it will be completed and returned — it is faster at the quotation stage than at payment.

Can you supply protective equipment along with the machines?

Yes. Note that we buy that line in and supply it, rather than making it — the machines are what is built at our works, and we would rather draw the line clearly than blur it.

Tell us what you pack in Bhiwadi Industrial Area

Send your carton size, load weight or line speed and we will tell you which machine fits — including the times when the cheaper machine is the right answer. Prices are ex works from our Faridabad works; GST and freight are quoted separately against your delivery address.
