Carton Packing Machine Price: Seal, Strap or Both

What does a carton packing machine price usually cover?

When a buyer asks for a carton packing machine price, the box is normally already filled. What is left is closing it and making it fit for transport. That work comes in three steps:

• Seal: tape over the top and bottom flaps with a carton sealer.
• Strap: a PP strap pulled tight around heavy or bundled cartons.
• Wrap: stretch film around a box or stack against dust, moisture and shifting.

Some units need only the first step; others need two or all three. Pricing the steps separately shows what you actually need to spend.

Tape only, tape plus strapper, or the 102PLS combo?

For a carton that must be taped and often strapped, there are three practical routes.

The middle route costs far less to buy and keeps each step free to run on its own. The combo costs more but removes a second handling: the carton is not carried, squared and fed again at another bench. Which is cheaper over time depends on your volume and how you staff the floor.

Cost per carton: a worked example

Machine price alone can mislead. Spread it over the cartons it will pack. The figures below are an example, not a promise; put in your own counts.

1. Volume: 800 cartons a day for 300 working days gives 2,40,000 cartons a year.
2. Tape only: ₹69,730 spread over 2,40,000 cartons is about 29 paise each in year one, and less every year after.
3. Tape plus strapper: ₹1,21,040 over the same count is about 50 paise a carton in year one.
4. Combo: ₹4,04,992 works out to about ₹1.69 a carton in year one.

Now add consumables. A 400 mm long carton with 60 mm legs at each end uses about 520 mm of tape per seam, so roughly 1.04 metres for top and bottom. Multiply by your tape rate per metre. For strap, each band needs the carton girth plus a small overlap. If your business is GST registered, the GST on the machine comes back as input credit, so the rate column is the real cost.

When is the 102PLS combo worth its price?

The 102PLS automatic taping and strapping combo tapes top and bottom, then straps the carton, in one straight pass at up to 20 cartons per minute. Its table adjusts from 570 to 770 mm to meet a conveyor, and it runs on single phase power.

• Worth it: nearly every outgoing carton is both taped and strapped, sizes are similar, and cartons travel in a straight path.
• Not worth it: only a few cartons need a strap, or sizes change every few minutes, which means two settings at each change.

Check your cartons against its range: up to W500 x H500 mm and down to L150 x W135 x H130 mm, with 50 or 76 mm tape. If the fit is doubtful, the separate-machine route is safer.

Strapping machine prices beyond the entry model

The strapping step has its own price ladder, depending on load and shift length.

• 101H / 101L table strappers: 1.5 seconds per strap, 6 to 15 mm strap, for small and medium units. ₹47,936 + ₹8,628 GST.
• Semi automatic arch strapping machine: about 1,200 straps an hour on single phase power. ₹51,310 + ₹9,236 GST.
• 101HD heavy duty: iron roller housing and 2.5 mm table for heavy, sharp-edged loads. ₹56,089 + ₹10,096 GST.
• 740H deluxe: built for continuous shifts, tension 15 to 45 kg, heat-sealed joint. ₹1,17,376 + ₹21,128 GST.

Box packaging machine cost for stretch wrapping

Wrapping is the third step, used when boxes travel open on a truck, sit in damp storage or are stacked and must not shift.

• BW600 box stretch wrapper: for single rigid boxes up to 100 kg and about 24 x 14 x 14 inch, 20 inch turntable, 2 kW on 220 V. ₹70,784 + ₹12,741 GST.
• Box wrapping machine with top press: holds light or uneven stacks down while film goes on, about 20 to 40 boxes an hour. ₹1,73,890 + ₹31,300 GST.

A simple test decides between them: hand-wrap a typical load and check it after an hour. If the film has gone slack, the stack springs and needs the top press version.

What else adds to the running cost?

• Consumables: BOPP tape, PP strap and stretch film are the main ongoing spend. Machine-length rolls reduce stoppages.
• Power: small. The SAC-01 draws about 0.24 kW and the arch strapper about 0.25 to 0.32 kW, both on single phase.
• Wear parts: blades, belts and rollers on sealers wear with use and sit outside the 12-month warranty on manufacturing defects.
• Air: none listed for the machines above; only the automatic sealers need a compressor.
• Freight: nil. Delivery is free across India, about 3 days to metro cities and 5 to 6 days elsewhere.

Buying several machines together brings a quantity discount, from 3% on two pieces up to 15% on 50 or more.
