Auto parts or FMCG: which kind of Pune carton is yours?

Chakan: component boxes for vehicle plants

Chakan MIDC lies on the Pune–Nashik highway, north of the city, and is built around vehicle assembly plants and their tier-1 and tier-2 suppliers. Much of the line-side supply moves in returnable bins, but cartons still carry spares, aftermarket packs and parts going to plants in other states.

Those cartons are dense, so they need wide tape and steady side belts:

Bhosari and Pimpri-Chinchwad: older estates, many sizes

Bhosari MIDC and the wider Pimpri-Chinchwad belt are the older industrial heart of Pune: press shops, fabrication, machining and auto ancillaries, many of them family units running job work for larger plants.

These units rarely run one carton all day. A bench may see a small bolt box in the morning and a gearbox carton after lunch. Two routes work:

1. Two simple machines. A 102TUS for boxes down to about 80 mm, plus a 102TU for master cartons. Both run on a single-phase supply.
2. One self-setting machine. The 102TR resets itself pneumatically for random boxes. A compact compressor (2 / 3 litre, 5 bar) is enough, and its heads run 48, 60 or 76 mm rolls.

Count how many sizes you seal in a normal week before deciding. Two or three sizes rarely justify a pneumatic machine.

FMCG and food plants: one case size, long runs

Ranjangaon MIDC to the east, along with Talegaon and the Chakan outskirts, has food, beverage, home-care and appliance plants. Their packing lines fill the same case for hours, and the sealer's job is to keep up with filling without a person standing at it.

The semi automatic carton sealing machine keeps pace at 800–1,200 cases an hour once set to the case. The packer still closes the top flaps by hand.

If flap folding is the bottleneck, the 5050Z closes the top flaps mechanically before taping and is rated at 25 cases a minute. Its size window runs from a 180 x 180 x 160 mm case to 600 x 500 x 500 mm, and it draws air at 0.4–0.6 MPa.
