Everything on an export floor is judged at one moment: when the container doors are closed. What happens in the forty feet behind those doors is decided long before the vehicle arrives.
Noida Phase III, Sectors 80-91 · Noida, Uttar Pradesh
Noida's Phase III sectors hold garment and made-up export units, appliances, electronics and general manufacture on larger plots than the older phases, much of it shipping through the ports rather than inland.
PackForge Industries builds strapping and stretch wrapping machines at Faridabad. This page is about the container: how a load is built for it, and what fails inside it.
A container is not a warehouse. It rolls, pitches and lands hard, and a stack that stood perfectly in your godown for a week can walk apart in a day at sea.
Loads move for two reasons: they were not tight against each other, or they were not tight against the walls. Both are stuffing decisions rather than packing ones.
Fill the gaps. Air in a container is where movement starts, and dunnage — bags, board, even properly stacked empty cartons — costs less than one shifted load.
The door end is where damage concentrates, because it is loaded last, in a hurry, and it is what falls out when the doors open. Plan what goes there rather than letting it be whatever is left.
Humidity and temperature swings inside a container are severe, and they act on everything you sealed weeks earlier.
Cartons soften as they absorb moisture, and a strap tensioned onto a stiff carton in Noida is loose on a soft carton at sea. That is why strapped stacks arrive slack, and it is not a machine fault.
Tension for the journey, not for the loading bay. Where a load must hold for weeks, a combination of strap and film does better than either alone — film keeps the stack together as the strap relaxes.
Check what your buyer specifies. Some ban strapping across printed faces; some require it; a specification read before shipping is cheaper than one read afterwards.
Shipping marks are read at ports and in warehouses by people who will never contact you to ask a question. Whatever is not obvious will be guessed.
Keep the mark large, on two faces, and in the position your buyer specified. Handling symbols are worth more than sentences, and a sentence in English on a carton going to a non-English warehouse is decoration.
Number cartons within the consignment. It is how a short-landed carton is identified, and without it the argument is about the whole shipment rather than one box.
Where a carton must not be laid flat, say so with a symbol and accept that it may happen anyway — design the pack so that it survives being laid flat.
Stuffing is done under time pressure by a gang who did not pack the goods and will not see the customer.
That is not a criticism; it is the reason the plan must be on paper. A stack pattern drawn and handed over is followed; an instruction shouted across a yard is not.
Count as it goes in, at the door, by one person with a list. Counting afterwards from a tally sheet is how shipments become disputes.
Photograph the load at the half-way point and at the door before closing. It takes two minutes and it is the only evidence you will ever have about how the container was loaded.
Export volumes are seasonal and uneven, and equipment bought for the peak stands idle for months while equipment bought for the average fails in the season.
Two moderate machines usually beat one large one here, for the same reason they do in any seasonal trade: one can be serviced while the other runs, and both can be used at the peak.
Ask for the wearing parts before the season rather than during it. A machine waiting for a part in the middle of a shipping window is an expensive machine.

Many do, and some specify it. Ask before you change anything, because a board change alters the stack strength and the strap tension together — and the first shipment is the wrong place to find that out.
Send your carton size, load weight or line speed and we will tell you which machine fits — including the times when the cheaper machine is the right answer. Prices are ex works from our Faridabad works; GST and freight are quoted separately against your delivery address.
