What is a 12 inch hand impulse sealer?

Under a PTFE strip on the bar lies a thin heating element. Pressing the arm sends a short burst of about 400 W through it, fusing the two film layers. Letting go too early leaves a soft seal, so the operator holds a moment longer while the element cools and the seal sets. Working by hand, a steady packer manages roughly 300 to 500 seals per hour.

Kirana shops, sweet and namkeen makers, bakeries, home businesses and online sellers closing bags between other jobs use it most. At about 3.5 kg and 430 x 85 x 180 mm, it fits on any counter and runs from a normal 230 V socket. Spare elements and a PTFE strip come with it. Wider bags need a longer sealer, and long nonstop runs suit the CS900 band sealer.

Sealing a sweets pouch on the 12 inch – 4 steps

   Measure the bagCheck that the bag mouth fits within the 300 mm bar, so a single press closes it fully.

   Clean the mouthWipe away crumbs, powder or oil from the inside edge before placing the bag on the bar.

   Press and holdLower the arm, keep it down through the heating burst, and pause briefly while the seal cools.

   Swap worn partsWhen seals turn patchy, fit one of the spare elements or a fresh PTFE strip supplied with the sealer.
