Mayapuri Industrial Area, Phases I and II, is where anything metal in west Delhi ends up. Scrap and metal trading, machinery dealing, auto dismantling, fabrication, and a long line of shops that sell parts to everybody else.
A page about carton sealers would be beside the point here. What Mayapuri buys is a tool that works on the load where it stands, strap that holds it, and the wear parts that keep an existing machine going.
A strapping machine takes the load through an arch. That is faster on repeat work of a size that fits, and completely useless for a bundle of angle iron, a coil, a stack of sheet or a dismantled assembly on a pallet.
A pneumatic strapping tool goes to the load instead. Compressed air, one action to tension, seal and cut, and a tension no person reaches by hand. For a yard where every load is a different shape, it is the only sensible answer.
The specification that matters is your air supply. Line pressure and available flow decide whether the tool performs or disappoints, and an underperforming tool is almost always an air problem rather than a tool problem. Tell us both with the enquiry and we will confirm the tool against them rather than assume.
Strap is sold by width and thickness, and those two together decide the break load. A 12 mm strap is not a 15 mm strap, and 0.55 mm is not 0.63 mm — a tool or a machine set for one will not behave on the other.
The trap in a market like this is that strap bought on price alone changes specification between batches. A machine that 'suddenly stopped working' has usually been given different strap, and checking that costs nothing before anybody calls a service engineer.
If you only know your strap by its trade name, send a photograph of the reel label. We will read the specification off it and quote against what you actually run.
A large part of what Mayapuri needs is a part for a machine somebody else sold, possibly years ago, possibly by a supplier who has since disappeared.
Send a photograph of the old part and of the machine plate. We will tell you honestly whether ours fits, and sometimes it does. A photograph is worth more than a part number, because names vary between suppliers and a photograph does not.
The parts that stop a line are worth keeping on your own shelf rather than ordering when they go: on a strapping machine the heating element and the strap guides; on a pneumatic tool the tension wheel and the cutter; on a pallet truck the wheels and the seal kit.
A Mayapuri yard is the worst surface a pallet truck will ever meet — broken concrete, loose metal, and a camber that was never intended.
Polyurethane wheels are not optional here, they are the only thing that lasts. Choose capacity against your heaviest load with a real margin, and expect the load wheels to go before anything else does.
For drums of oil and lubricant, a drum carrier and lifter with a working safety lock. For everything that is neither pallet nor drum, a material handling trolley is usually cheaper and more useful than anything more sophisticated.
Strap in Mayapuri is often quoted by the kilogram rather than by the metre, and that single difference is where a good deal of money quietly goes.
A kilogram of strap is not a length. Thinner strap gives you more metres per kilogram, so a lower rate per kilo can be the same or a worse deal per metre, and a thinner strap also has a lower break load. Two reels quoted at the same price per kilo can be a different product entirely.
Work out your cost per metre and your break load, and compare on those two numbers rather than on the rate. If a supplier will not tell you the thickness, that is the answer to the question.
The second trap is core size. Reels come on different cores, and a machine or a dispenser expects one. A cheaper reel that does not fit your machine's spindle is not a cheaper reel, and it is a surprisingly common reason for a bench full of strap nobody can use.
